According to recent reports, deleted scenes from the film — especially a family court sequence that was removed from the theatrical cut — could soon be added back as part of an extended version.

Directed by RJ Balaji, the film also stars Trisha Krishnan, while RJ Balaji himself plays the primary antagonist. The filmmaker-actor has also reportedly confirmed that discussions for a sequel to Karuppu are already underway.
