'Magnificent' period drama hailed a 'masterpiece' now streaming

Psychological thriller Phantom Thread was released in 2017 and is set in 1950s London, following a dressmaker and his complex relationship with a young waitress, who becomes his muse.

Phantom Thread starred Daniel Day-Lewis as highly respected fashion designer Reynolds Woodcock, whose creations are worn by royalty and women from the upper echelons of society. Meanwhile, The Crown's Lesley Manville portrayed his sister Cyril Woodcock, who manages his fashion house. Luxembourgish and German actress Vicky Krieps plays Reynolds' muse and waitress Alma Elson, reports Gloucestershire Live.
