Monalisa moves High Court over kidnapping case filed against husband Farman Khan
Indore: Monalisa Bhosle, who gained popularity during the Kumbh Mela, has been making headlines ever since her marriage to Farman Khan.
Recently, Monalisa married Uttar Pradesh-based actor Farman Khan in Kerala. Following the marriage, some members of Monalisa’s family and others described the relationship as “Love Jihad”. Soon after, claims surfaced that Monalisa had not yet turned 18 and was allegedly a minor. A POCSO case was also registered in connection with the matter.
The case has now taken another twist, with Monalisa approaching the Indore High Court.
Monalisa Bhosle has moved the Indore High Court challenging the kidnapping case registered against her husband.
In her petition, Monalisa stated that her birth year was wrongly recorded as 2009 in official documents, leading to her being portrayed as a minor. She clarified in the petition that her actual date of birth is January 1, 2008.
The petition further stated that the incorrect birth records created legal complications following her marriage to Farman Khan. According to the plea, the two became acquainted during the shooting of a film and later got married at a temple in Kerala in March 2026 in the presence of local leaders and police officials.
However, after the marriage, Monalisa’s father lodged a complaint at the Maheshwar police station alleging that Farman Khan had abducted his minor daughter. Based on the complaint, police registered a case against Farman.
Monalisa has now appeared in court supporting her husband and has argued that she is legally an adult. To support her claim, she submitted documents including her Voter ID card and other identity records before the court.
She has also requested an impartial investigation into all documents related to her date of birth.
POCSO case against Farman
Investigators have reportedly found that the birth certificate issued to Monalisa by the Maheshwar Municipal Council was incorrect. According to records from the Maheshwar Government Medical Hospital in Madhya Pradesh, Monalisa was born on December 30, 2009, at 5:50 pm.
