Mythology meets social consciousness in new dance-theatre production

Jadavpur Mudra Cultural Troupe marked its 37th anniversary with the launch of Dashavatar, a new dance-theatre production inspired by the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Unveiled in Kolkata, the production blends mythology with contemporary social themes, highlighting the triumph of good over evil while encouraging audiences to reflect on their role in creating positive change.

Conceptualised by Adrija Bhattacharjee, Dashavatar uses dance, music, narration and visual storytelling to explore themes of personal responsibility, social consciousness and harmony. Continuing the troupe's long-standing tradition of combining art with meaningful social messages, the production aims to inspire introspection while celebrating India's rich mythological heritage.
