PF Withdrawal: Now Withdraw Your PF Funds from Home Without Company Approval—Learn the Complete Process.
The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has provided significant relief to employees by digitizing the PF withdrawal process. Previously, obtaining approval and attestation from the employer—that is, the company—was mandatory for withdrawing PF funds. This often led to delays in processing claims. However, under the new EPFO 3.0 framework, this process has now become entirely online in many instances.
**Who Will Benefit?**
According to the new EPFO regulations, employees whose Universal Account Number (UAN) is active—and whose Aadhaar, PAN, and bank account details are linked and verified—can file online PF claims without requiring employer approval.
For this to work, the mobile number linked to the Aadhaar account must also be active, as the entire process is completed via OTP verification. However, individuals with incomplete KYC details or those filing claims offline may still require confirmation from their employer.
**Which Claims Can Be Filed?**
The EPFO facilitates various types of online claims. These include Form 19 for withdrawing the full PF balance upon leaving a job, Form 10C for pension withdrawal, and Form 31 for partial withdrawals.
Through Form 31, a portion of the PF balance can be withdrawn for specific purposes such as medical emergencies, higher education, marriage, purchasing a home, repaying a home loan, or home renovation.
