Newspoint
Playground Season 5 continued to raise the stakes as three mentor-led teams battled it out across six weeks for the ultimate title. Two-time champion Elvish Yadav led the KO Krakens , Tejasswi Prakash mentored the Raging Centaurs , while Aarush Bhola headed the Power Phoenixes. The KO Krakens comprised Simar Sethi, Vikaash Yadav, Khushboo Unnani and Riya Kumari, with Ridey Behl as the captain for the week; the Raging Centaurs included Srishti Parashar, Rhea Saxena, Harshdeep Singh and Navdeesh Arora, with Ronak Raja as their captain; while the Power Phoenixes featured Madhuja Ghoshal, Mannat Kulharia, Rahul Gussain, Chakshdeep Singh and Simran Behl as the captain for the week.

The episode opened on a lighter note, with mentors Elvish, Tejasswi and Aarush engaging in playful banter while discussing their teams. Tejasswi called out the chemistry between Ronak and Rhea, while Elvish joked that their team’s hashtag should be ‘Roya’ because they would keep crying. As the mentors entered the house, however, the mood quickly shifted when they discovered the hitlist. Aarush and Tejasswi found their entire team on the list, except the captains of both teams. Meanwhile, the leaderboard saw KO Krakens take the lead, followed by Raging Centaurs and Power Phoenixes. Tensions within the Raging Centaurs also came to the fore as Srishti questioned her place within the team. She alleged that Ronak and Rhea’s relationship was fake. Frustrated by the growing divisions, mentor Tejasswi told her team, “pagal hogaye ho kya, tum log ek team ho... mujhe yahan par ek hi Team mein, 3 alag teams dikh rhi hai, ek toh tum teeno ladke, ek Srishti aur rhea ka toh koi point of view hi nhi dikh rha hai”.

Just when things seemed intense enough, the Q-Bit was activated and the game got its biggest shake-up yet with the arrival of Vanshaj Singh as the Agent of Chaos . Announcing his entry, Vanshaj said, “mein idhar aaya hoon as agent of chaos, kyunki mein jahan bhi jaata hoon wahan chaos ho jaata hai”. He wasted no time taking digs at the mentors, telling Aarush, “Aarush bhai Maine aapke team ka leaderboard dekha, aur dekhke mujhe realise ho rha hai ki aisa mentor toh nhi banna hai”. Turning his attention to Tejasswi, Vanshaj joked that with her entering the Playground house, its average age had increased, to which Tejasswi hit back, “reel katwaane aaya tu yahan par?”. Vanshaj then turned to Elvish, saying, “chize bahot badal gyi hai, elvish bhai ke saamne harr koi bol pa rha hai... elvish bhai woh baat nhi rhi, kya hua?” Elvish, quick with his comeback, told him, “bhai entry kitni hi Nayi lelo aap, exit wohi purani... harr show ke beech mein se”, leaving everyone in splits.

The Agent of Chaos then made his biggest move yet, declaring that he had made enough alliances and now it was time to break some. He deducted 50% of the rumbles from every team, revealing that three ‘viruses’ had entered the system - Himaanshika, Prateik Jain and Vansh Khandeka, former audition rejects who had been injected with 50% rumbles. Vanshaj then introduced an activity involving the three viruses and the players, where the players had to gather the rumbles released by the viruses. The activity brought a significant change to the leaderboard, with Raging Centaurs moving to the top, followed by KO Krakens and Power Phoenixes.

The chaos spilled into the arcade during the ‘Ande Ka Fanda’ IRL task, where all three teams, along with their mentors, battled across multiple rounds, with KO Krakens ultimately emerging victorious. But the twists didn’t stop there. Vanshaj offered the mentors a shield card and asked them to make a blind bid, allowing the winning mentor to decide which virus would join which team while also saving a player from the hitlist. Aarush won the bid, selecting Prateik to be on his team, Vansh to join Elvish’s team and Himaanshika to join Tejasswi’s team. He also gave Madhuja one final chance by handing her the shield and saving her from the hitlist.

With Mannat, Rahul, Rhea Saxena, Chakshdeep, Navdeesh and Harshdeep on the hitlist, the bottom two according to audience votes were Navdeesh and Harshdeep. After the housemates’ votes, Harshdeep became the first eliminated player of Playground Season 5. And just when the house thought the chaos was finally over, host Bhavya announced another twist, with the three viruses becoming the new captains for the week.

The chaos continued with another twist as the Q-Bit asked each team to choose the player they trusted the most, allowing them to be in the Resource Hub. Navdeesh from Raging Centaurs, Mannat from Power Phoenixes and Simar from KO Krakens were chosen and sent to the Resource Hub, where they received a chance to secure immunity from the upcoming hitlist by trading rumbles for a shield. With each player receiving an OTP to make the decision, the question was, would they stay loyal to their teams or choose to save themselves? However, they chose to remain loyal to their teams and did not trade the rumbles for the shield.
