PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana: ₹2,000 due on June 20, but these 5 mistakes could stall your payment.
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana: The 23rd installment of the PM Kisan Yojana is set to be released on June 20 for crores of farmers across the country. However, if there are any of these 5 errors in your bank account details or documents, your ₹2,000 payment could get stuck. Follow these essential tips immediately to avoid any issues.
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana: Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, a sum of ₹2,000 is scheduled to be deposited into the accounts of crores of farmers across the nation on June 20 (this coming Saturday).
While this government announcement has brought joy to farmers, an important warning has also been issued. If you want this government-disbursed amount to be credited directly to your bank account without any hindrance, you must avoid certain common yet serious errors. Due to stricter regulations, even a minor oversight could result in your installment being withheld.
These 5 mistakes could stall your 23rd installment.
If even one of the following five discrepancies exists in your profile, your payment will automatically be put on hold.
- Pending e-KYC: The government has made e-KYC mandatory for all active beneficiaries. If you have not yet completed the verification of your account, you will not receive the payment this time.
- Aadhaar card not linked to the bank account: Merely having a bank account or possessing an Aadhaar card is not enough. The government transfers funds via 'Direct Benefit Transfer' (DBT). For this, it is mandatory to have your Aadhaar number 'seeded' (NPCI mapping) with your bank account.
- Incomplete land verification (Land Seeding): Land seeding is essential to ensure that the benefits of the PM-Kisan Yojana reach only genuine landowners. If there is any discrepancy in your government revenue records (Khasra or Khatauni numbers), the payment will be held up.
- Entering incorrect details in the application form: Typing errors regarding name spelling, bank account numbers, or IFSC codes while filling out the registration form can prove costly. Ensure that the name recorded on your Aadhaar card matches exactly with the name in your bank passbook.
- Violation of strict eligibility criteria: If any family member pays income tax or if you purchased land from someone else after February 1, 2019, you may be declared ineligible under the scheme's terms.
Follow these 4 essential tips immediately
If you are concerned that your payment might be stalled, take the following corrective measures before June 20.
- Check status from home: Immediately visit the official PM-Kisan website, click on the ‘Know Your Status’ option, and check the current status of your land seeding, e-KYC, and Aadhaar-bank account linking.
- Complete e-KYC via chatbot: If e-KYC is incomplete, complete it within minutes using a mobile OTP by visiting the PM-Kisan portal or using the government’s official ‘Kisan e-Mitra’ chatbot.
- Visit your bank branch immediately: If your account is not linked to Aadhaar, visit your home branch with your Aadhaar card and passbook, and request the officials to facilitate NPCI mapping or fill out an Aadhaar linking form.
- Contact the Agriculture Department: If the status for land seeding (land records) shows ‘No’, visit the nearest block or district Agriculture Department office and submit your Khatauni documents and Aadhaar card.
