The makers of Ramayanahave unveiled the film’s first full trailer, offering audiences their biggest look yet at director Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious two part adaptation of the ancient Indian epic. Featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, the trailer presents the beginning of one of the most celebrated stories in Indian mythology. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release during Diwali 2026 and has been filmed for IMAX.

The trailer opens by introducing Ravana, the powerful demon king, who declares his control over heaven, earth and the underworld. A voiceover then explains the central conflict of the story, saying that whenever evil and chaos threaten the world, Lord Vishnu takes human form to restore righteousness. This sets the stage for the introduction of Prince Rama, played by Ranbir Kapoor, as the eldest son of King Dasharatha, portrayed by Arun Govil.

The story then follows Rama as he accepts 14 years of exile to honour his father’s promise. He leaves the kingdom along with his wife Sita, played by Sai Pallavi, and his younger brother Lakshmana, portrayed by Ravi Dubey. Their peaceful life in the forest changes when Ravana’s sister Surpanakha, played by Rakul Preet Singh, becomes attracted to Rama. Her humiliation leads Ravana to seek revenge, resulting in the abduction of Sita and setting the stage for the epic battle between good and evil.

The trailer features several powerful dialogues that underline the emotional and mythological scale of the story. These dialogues, combined with striking visuals, create an intense atmosphere as Rama prepares to confront Ravana and rescue Sita. The preview also showcases grand battle sequences, mythological weapons, large scale armies and detailed visual effects, highlighting the film’s ambitious production.

The first part of Ramayana is expected to conclude with Sita’s abduction, while the rescue mission and the final battle between Rama and Ravana will be shown in the second part. This approach allows the makers to tell the complete story across two films while giving each chapter enough space to develop its characters and emotions.

The film is produced by Namit Malhotra under Prime Focus Studios along with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. With a cast featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Ravi Dubey, Arun Govil and Rakul Preet Singh, the project brings together several well known actors for one of Indian cinema’s biggest productions.

With its powerful dialogues, grand visual effects, large scale action sequences and faithful retelling of the timeless epic, the Ramayana trailer has generated significant interest among audiences. As the film prepares for its worldwide release during Diwali 2026, viewers are eager to witness this cinematic adaptation of one of India’s greatest mythological stories on the big screen.
