Ryan Edwards' wife Amanda Conner arrested on DUI charges after alleged incident involving child

Amanda Conner, the wife of 'Teen Mom' alum Ryan Edwards, best known for his appearances on the long-running reality show franchise, has been arrested and booked on a DUI charge after allegedly driving under the influence with their baby in the car. Court records in Hamilton County, Tennessee show that Conner, 35, was arrested on Sunday, May 24, by a Chattanooga police officer.

According to a spokesperson for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Jail in Tennessee, as reported by TMZ, she has been charged with driving under the influence, child abuse and neglect, as well as driving on the wrong side of the road. Her bond was set at $16,000, and as of around 3 p.m. local time on the day of her arrest, she had not yet been released.

What happened before Amanda Conner's arrestIn audio of a 911 call obtained by the outlet, a dispatcher can be heard informing authorities that a husband called the police on his wife, saying she had left with their baby in the car. The dispatcher also noted that the caller expressed concern that his wife was using narcotics, as she had refused to be drug tested. No names were given during the call.

It is also reported that if Conner posts bond, she will be required to abide by a no-contact order regarding the child involved in the incident until at least her next court hearing, which is scheduled for June 3. She is not permitted to be near the child or contact the person responsible for the child's care in the meantime.

Amanda Conner and Ryan Edwards' relationship and prior legal historyEdwards, 38, proposed to Conner in 2024 and the couple married in 2025, two weeks after he finalised his divorce from Mackenzie Standifer on August 15. The couple share one-year-old daughter Presley. Edwards is also father to 17-year-old son Bentley, whom he shares with ex-fiancée and '16 and Pregnant' star Maci Bookout McKinney, as well as son Jagger, 7, and daughter Stella, 6, with Standifer.

Court records viewed by PEOPLE show that Conner previously pleaded guilty to DUI and possession of a controlled substance in 2023. She has also pleaded guilty to a number of other charges dating back to 2010, including theft, possession of marijuana and failure to appear.

Ryan Edwards' own history with substance issuesEdwards himself has been open about his struggles with substance use over the years. He revealed at the 'Teen Mom: Next Chapter' reunion in October 2023 that he was five months sober, and in a summer episode of the same show, he told Bookout that he planned to attend a rehab centre in Austin for 30 to 45 days.

In April 2023, Edwards was arrested for violating the terms of his probation after being initially charged with possession of a controlled substance and a DUI. He pleaded guilty while accepting a plea deal, serving 48 hours in jail, paying a $465 fine and court costs, losing his licence for a year and attending DUI school.
