Telugu actor Akhil Akkineni is all set to return to the big screen with ‘Lenin’ after staying away from films for nearly three years. While many believed the long break was only because of ‘Agent’s failure, the actor has now revealed that a serious accident also kept him away from work.

On the Idlebrain YouTube channel, while promoting ‘Lenin’ with co-star Bhagyashri Borse, Akhil spoke openly about the difficult phase in his life and how it affected him both physically and mentally.

He slipped on a wet bathroom floor and fell on a glass piece, which badly injured his left hand. He said, “I can understand, it is a long break. Half was my fault, half was not in my hands. I had an injury with a 16-month recovery. It took some time. I had two surgeries on my left hand. 3-4 months after the Agent was released, I had an injury. It was a freak accident. I slipped on a wet bathroom floor, and I fell on a glass piece. It cut through my vein, nerve and tendon on my left hand ring finger and middle finger. I have 48 stitches here.”
