Shweta Tripathi revives LGBTQ+ play 'Cock' during pride month
Actress and producer Shweta Tripathi is bringing the acclaimed play Cock back to the stage during Pride Month, emphasizing the importance of embracing and living one’s identity openly.
Presented under her production house, All My Tea Productions, the play explores themes of identity, love, attraction, and the complexities of human relationships. According to Shweta, the production encourages audiences to reflect on these issues rather than providing straightforward answers.
Speaking about the significance of staging the play during Pride Month, Shweta said that Cock does not tell people what to think. Instead, it invites them to engage with questions surrounding identity, love, confusion, vulnerability, and self-discovery.
“Presenting this play during Pride Month is deeply meaningful for me. Pride is not just about visibility; it is also about respect, acceptance, empathy, and understanding. It gives people the opportunity to live honestly as their true selves,” she said.
