Providing major relief to Shikshamitras and part-time instructors in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government has decided to increase their honorarium.

This decision by the government is expected to provide financial benefits to lakhs of education personnel. Additionally, updates regarding their tenure of service may also be forthcoming in the near future.

The Yogi government has implemented a substantial hike in the honorarium of Shikshamitras. Previously, Shikshamitras received a monthly honorarium of ₹10,000; this amount has now been increased to ₹18,000.

Shikshamitra organizations had been demanding an increase in their honorarium for a long time, following which the government took this significant decision.

The government has also announced an increase in the honorarium for part-time instructors. Previously, instructors received ₹9,000 per month, which has now been raised to ₹17,000. This decision will provide direct financial benefits to thousands of instructors.

According to information provided by the government, the enhanced honorarium will be deemed effective from April 1, 2026.

This means that the concerned employees will be paid according to the new rates starting from the month of April.

Directives have also been issued to initiate the necessary procedures at the departmental level. According to reports, the issue of extending the tenure of Shikshamitras is once again a topic of discussion; expectations are high that their service tenure will indeed be extended.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's government asserts that this decision will boost the morale of education personnel and strengthen the educational infrastructure within government schools.

The government continues to work on various schemes aimed at bringing about continuous improvements in the education sector.
