E-Zero FIR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government has issued directives to launch 'E-Zero FIR' in all states. PM Modi announced this while chairing the 52nd PRAGATI meeting. This step is being taken to rein in cybercrimes and online fraud, ensure strict action against them, and further strengthen digital security.

What is PM Modi's directive?

The Prime Minister has directed the Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Police (DGPs) of all states and Union Territories to immediately implement the technical framework for 'E-Zero FIR' in their respective regions. As previously mentioned, the government has taken this decision to crack down on online fraud, 'digital arrests,' and financial cyber fraud, and to provide immediate relief to victims. PM Modi stated that as soon as a digital E-Zero FIR is registered, state cyber cells should immediately freeze the fraudsters' bank accounts without wasting any time.
