AICF, government launches nationwide initiative to introduce structured chess education in Indian schools
A new initiative called CHESS+ (Championing Excellence in Sport Skills) has been launched to introduce a structured chess curriculum in schools and strengthen India's grassroots chess ecosystem .
The programme, unveiled by Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary, will begin with a pilot across 30 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, in partnership with the All India Chess Federation (AICF) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
