ECU ( Electronic Control Unit )

The ECU is the car’s central computer and is connected to more than 100 sensors across the car. It collects and processes huge amounts of data in real time and sends information to engineers during the race. This helps the teams monitor engine performance, tyre condition, fuel usage, battery deployment, and overall vehicle health.

Engineers use the ECU data to make strategic decisions, including pit stops and energy management. Every F1 team uses a standard FIA-approved ECU to ensure fairness.
