Novak Djokovic is on the cusp of his first title in 2024 after a commanding performance in the Geneva Open. The world number one overcame a tough first set challenge from Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor to secure his place in the semi-finals, winning 7-5, 6-1 in 77 minutes at the Parc des Eaux-Vives.

Griekspoor's match against Shapovalov was halted by rain on Wednesday, forcing him to return to the court Thursday morning to finish the encounter, eventually prevailing 6-7 (7/9), 7-6 (7/4), 6-3.
Despite the fatigue from his earlier match, Griekspoor started strong against Djokovic, challenging the top seed and creating three set points in the opening set. Djokovic acknowledged the difficulty of the match, saying, “It was a great win. I thought the first set could have gone his way easily because I think he was a better player for most of the first set. We could have been having a completely different direction of the match if he converted those set points.”
