Shreyas Iyer added a unique milestone to his captaincy career before a ball was bowled in the opening T20I against Zimbabwe in Harare on Thursday.
The India skipper won the toss and elected to field first, registering his eighth consecutive toss win as captain in T20 Internationals and moving past former captain MS Dhoni in the record books.
Iyer now holds the record for the most successive toss wins by an Indian captain in T20Is. His streak of eight, stretching from June to July 2026, overtakes Dhoni's previous best of seven achieved between 2010 and 2012.
