A lifter from Punjab, Dilbag Singh has steadily built his reputation on the national and international stage, going from a National Games gold medallist to one of India's most reliable performers in the men's heavyweight categories. He first made his mark at the junior level, winning gold in the boys' 96kg category with a total lift of 295kg, before graduating to the senior ranks where he went on to set new marks at the National Senior Championships. That rise through the junior and senior domestic circuit laid the foundation for his breakthrough on the international stage.
