India-Bangladesh Series Talks Progress; Afghanistan Tour Could Be Postponed

Newspoint

India might visit Bangladesh later this year as BCCI and BCB dialogues are progressing positively. But the tour needs the Indian government's sanction and might hinder India's upcoming T20 International series against Afghanistan.

Both teams were set to engage in a bilateral series during the previous year, but political unrest in the wake of a deal had put paid to the plans. However, there have since been negotiations on the matter with the civil powers and the series is now likely to be moved to early September.

BCB will reportedly only need two grounds to accommodate all six of the white ball matches, with Dhaka and Chittagong expected to be the venues.

"BCB is also fine with the idea of holding all matches at one venue. They ideally prefer three T20Is at one venue and three ODIs in another. Dhaka and Chattogram are the leading venues. Playing just one format was a possibility too. The two boards held discussions on the sidelines of the recent ICC meet in London."
