India Great Criticises BCCI Over CSK Player Exclusion, Alleges 'Favoritism'
Former Indian cricket team batter Krishnamachari Srikkanth has unleashed a scathing attack on the Board of Control for Cricket in India ( BCCI ) for overlooking Chennai Super Kings skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 squad.
Despite Ruturaj's commendable performances in the IPL 2024, he failed to secure a spot in the national team, much to Srikkanth's dismay. Adding to his discontent, Srikkanth expressed dissatisfaction with the inclusion of Shubman Gill in the reserve list, accusing the team management of exhibiting 'favouritism.'
"Shubman Gill is totally out of form, but why he's selected in the team. There's no doubt that Ruturaj Gaikwad deserves a place. He scored more than 500 runs in 17 innings. Also he scored a century against Australia. Shubman Gill is selectors' delight. He gets chance even if he fails. He finds place even if he fails in Test, ODIs and T20s.There's too much of favoritism in selection . The team selection is all about favoritism," Srikkanth expressed in a video posted on his YouTube channel 'Cheeky Chekka.'
