IPL 2026 Champions RCB Share Official Statement on Celebratory Victory Parade
Royal Challengers Bengaluru kinda celebrated another major milestone after beating the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 final on May 31 , to lift the trophy. Right after that, RCB’s official social media account shared a statement about the celebrations that fans had been waiting for, you know, after the title win.
Since RCB managed to hold on to their IPL crown and go from champions to champions again, a lot of people expected really huge celebrations all over Bengaluru. But still, the tragic stampede from June 4, 2025 is still there in the minds of cricket fans. And because of that, the franchise brought up the issue in an official statement posted on social media, just like that.
The tragedy really sort of marked one of the bleakest instances for RCB supporters, it cost 11 lives and left over 50 people hurt while they were celebrating the teams maiden IPL title outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. This incident came about after the Karnataka State Cricket Association, and the event management company DNA Entertainment, set up a felicitation ceremony at the stadium , which drew in an overwhelming amount of supporters.
Even though Bengaluru Police didn’t grant permission for that kind of huge gathering, well over two lakh fans showed up anyway at the venue.
Massive crowds assembled, to celebrate the victory, i mean you know, the vibe was pretty intense. Thousands of supporters tried to get into the stadium, just to catch a quick glimpse of their favorite stars, including Virat Kohli. But pressure at multiple entry gates started getting unmanageable and then, it turned into a deadly crowd surge like really fast.
After that incident, several investigations kicked in, and legal actions followed too. Post tragedy, Bengaluru City Police put restrictions in place on public victory celebrations, roadshows and even open-air match screenings, all of that was done so overcrowding doesn’t happen again.
Officials also banned reckless driving, and the carrying of hazardous materials. Fans could still watch the match indoors, but no public celebrations, roadshows, or victory parades were scheduled in Bengaluru this year, and not at the Chinnaswamy Stadium either. So, following police guidelines, and you know prioritizing public safety, RCB put out a statement on X, basically telling fans to celebrate responsibly, try not to show up in large crowds at public places.

They also made it clear, no proper celebrations would happen this year, and they reassured supporters that there will be another chance to meet the team next season too. And as a bit of respect for last years tragedy, they said there wouldn’t be a victory parade.
Meanwhile, RCB kind of pulled off this record smashing win vs the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 final , by five wickets which was kinda wild. Virat Kohli anchored the chase in a very smooth way , finishing with 75 off 42 balls , even though Rashid Khan from GT kept applying that steady pressure during the middle overs.
Gujarat Titans ended up with 155 runs, yet somehow it still felt like too little on the Ahmedabad pitch. Venkatesh Iyer gave a sharp start , smashing 32 from just 16 balls , and then Kohli’s stubborn, keep-going style carried the innings, so RCB reached the target with 12 balls left.
