As per ESPNcricinfo, KL Rahul is currently in London for a consultation with a doctor regarding his injury. This injury has sidelined him from participating in the second, third, and fourth Tests against England, following his appearance in the series opener in Hyderabad.

Challenges in Recovery
Following complaints of stiffness during the Hyderabad Test, Rahul's journey towards recovery hit multiple hurdles. Despite progress and reaching ‘90% match fitness’, he remained sidelined for subsequent Tests, leaving selectors and fans awaiting positive news on his return.

India's batting coach, Vikram Rathour, emphasises the importance of full fitness, stating, "For me either he [Rahul] is fit or he is not. At the moment he is not. I am not sure about the percentage or what stage he is in. Only the medical team can confirm that. As far as we are concerned, he is not available and we are focussing on the team we have."

ESPNcricinfo reports that KL Rahul's IPL team, the Lucknow Super Giants, is informed of his progress and remains assured of the captain's readiness for the forthcoming competition, set to commence on March 22. Despite skipper Rohit Sharma's reassurance in Rajkot during the post-match conference that KL Rahul ‘should be okay’ for the Ranchi Test, the wicketkeeper-batter remained unavailable. Shortly after Sharma's statement, the Indian cricket board issued an official statement, confirming Rahul's absence from the Ranchi Test but refrained from disclosing further details.
