Red Bull's Special Livery For The 2025 Japanese Grand Prix
Oracle Red Bull Racing is set to honor its championship-winning partnership with Honda at the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix with a special tribute livery. As part of a team takeover in Tokyo and Suzuka, the new design pays homage to Honda's historic F1 legacy.
With Max Verstappen and his new Japanese teammate Yuki Tsunoda leading the charge at Suzuka, Red Bull is celebrating one of the most successful partnerships in motorsport history. The special edition livery is inspired by Honda's RA272, the car that secured the company’s first Formula One victory in 1965.
A Tribute in Red and White: Honoring Honda’s First F1 Victory
The striking white and red livery replicates the RA272’s iconic Japanese flag motif, featuring the "H" logo on the nose and the classic Honda branding on the rear bodywork. Additionally, a special commemorative logo marking 60 years since Honda’s first F1 win will be displayed across all four Red Bull cars on the grid.
Max Verstappen acknowledged the tribute with his usual short and witty style, posting on Instagram: "For you, Japan."
Red Bull’s Second White Livery Tribute to Honda
This is not the first time Red Bull Racing has raced in a Honda-inspired white livery. In 2021, the team sported a special edition design at the Turkey Grand Prix, where Verstappen and Sergio Pérez secured a double podium finish.
Team Principal Christian Horner expressed his excitement about the tribute, stating:
"Our relationship with Honda deserves celebration, it has been one of continued success and brought the Team one of the most triumphant and dominant periods in our history. Max has won four World titles with a Honda Power Unit, and the Team have lifted two Constructors' titles"
The CEO and Team Principal Horner added: "Honda's reliability enabled it to complete the most successful season in the sport's history in 2023. This livery is a tribute to Honda's success in the sport and the final year of what has been a thoroughly enjoyable partnership."
With the 60th anniversary of Honda’s first F1 victory, Oracle Red Bull Racing’s tribute livery brings together history, legacy, and a winning partnership. As the team competes at Suzuka, fans can expect a visually stunning tribute on the track while celebrating Honda’s deep roots in Formula One.
