Icon Sachin Tendulkar surprised the Indian women's cricket team on the eve of their record Test win at Lord's, according to reports. Master Blaster paid a visit to Harmanpreet Kaur and her teammates at Lord's on the eve of the fourth day of the one-off Test match against England on Monday.

 

In less than 24 hours after the legend's visit, India achieved one of their biggest Test victories after thrashing England by 270 runs, extending their unbeaten record in women's Test matches in England, as well as recording their maiden Test victory at Lord's Cricket Ground.

Sachin Tendulkar Visits Indian Women's cricket team Players

 

Commentator Nick Knight, a former England cricketer, said on air in a video uploaded on Sky Sports. :

 

"The great man, the great man Sachin Tendulkar, unannounced, has just popped in, and he has decided to come over and chat with the Indian players. I mean, what a lift that is. "They are about to win this historic Test match surely in the morning session, and some incredible words there from Sachin. It is so good to see him here. It is so good to see him here involved in women's cricket as well. And what a moment that is for all those players."

 

India hammer England to script history at Lord's. England needed 457 to win on Day Four and quickly fell to 130 for 6, with India's bowlers in complete command. Finally, England were bowled out for 186 in their second innings, with India sealing a sensational 270-run win.

 

Spinners Sneh Rana and Deepti Sharma bagged 4 for 42 and 3 for 18, respectively. In the first innings, after being put in to bat first, the visitors posted 285, courtesy of contributions from Smriti Mandhana (83), Harmanpreet Kaur (58), and Deepti Sharma (57). The Three Lions were all out for 170, as India took a 115-run lead.

 

In the second innings, Indian batswomen registered another 341-run total, as Yastika Bhatia scripted history by becoming the first woman to register a Test hundred at the Home of Cricket, while Mandhana (70) and Richa Ghosh (50*) also chipped in.
