Manchester United will be looking to make a fast start to the transfer window as Michael Carrick looks to strengthen ahead of the 2026/27 season. They finished their Premier League campaign with a one-sided victory over Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon. There was nothing riding on the fixture for United as they had already secured their place in next season's Champions League.

As the dust settles on the campaign just gone, there is already a strong focus on the summer transfer window. United are reportedly looking to sign at least two central midfielders, with Casemiro needing to be replaced following the end of his contract. Several players could also leave Old Trafford between now and the start of next season.

Here are three transfers that could soon be completed if everything goes to plan...

Ederson

It seems likely that United will make Atalanta playmaker Ederson their first midfield signing of the window. They have been linked with the 26-year-old's signature for quite some time and their pursuit could finally succeed over the coming days.

It's been reported that a verbal agreement has already been reached on a five-year contract, with Ederson eager to make the switch to Old Trafford.

Negotiations between the two clubs are now thought to be advancing on a potential £43million transfer. If everything goes well, the deal could be done over the coming days.

Sandro Tonali

An impending move for Tonali would seem less likely, but reports in Italy are claiming that an agreement may already be close.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, a deal that would see the Newcastle midfielder join the Red Devils is close to being struck. However, it's not been stated what fee United would need to pay the Magpies in order to sign him.

They were linked with a move for Tonali back in January and have been tipped to go back in for his signature over the coming weeks. Only time will tell if they can convince Newcastle to sell before the start of next season

Marcus Rashford

Another deal that could technically be finalised before the end of this week would see Marcus Rashford join Barcelona on a permanent basis.

The newly-crowned La Liga champions have the option to buy for around £26million thanks to a purchase clause that was inserted into Rashford's season-long loan deal.

However, it's been widely reported that Barcelona consider that fee too high and will only sign the England international if United are willing to accept reduced terms.
