Former Middlesbrough striker Martin Braithwaite is estimated to be worth more than £200million. The 34-year-old's wealth has ballooned thanks to his property investments.

Braithwaite played for Barcelona, Toulouse and Espanyol, in addition to representing the Denmark national team. He currently plays for Gremio in Brazil.

The forward's passion for property began back in 2017 when he entered the world of investing alongside his brother and business partner, Philip Michael. The forward made his first investment of around £600,000 in the USA.

However, the growth of his portfolio was unprecedented. In just a year, his stake in these businesses increased in value to approximately £7.2m. That value has continued to rise, reaching around £180m, with his real estate holdings currently valued at around £200m.

Braithwaite's business model is focused on the purchase, development, and management of real estate. There is a heavy focus on rental properties with his projects now in US cities, Philadelphia and New Jersey.

Speaking on his passion for property, he said: "It started with our family having been in the real estate business for a long time. Here, you will find that one of the ways you can build a fortune and secure your future financially is by investing in real estate."

It's not just through real estate that Braithwaite has made his money. He has also dipped his toe into other sectors such as fashion and restaurants.

His projects include a women's clothing brand run with his family, as well as culinary businesses such as Braithwaite's Kitchen and the Playa Paris restaurant.

Braithwaite has also taken steps to establish himself in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. His wife, French journalist Anne-Laure, officially opened a restaurant in Porto Alegre.
