From November 2025, Aadhaar Name, Address and Mobile Number Can Be Updated Online

Starting November 2025, updating your Aadhaar card will become significantly easier, thanks to a new initiative by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Residents will now be able to update key details such as name, address, and mobile number online, eliminating the need to visit an Aadhaar center for these changes. This development promises to reduce waiting times and make the process more convenient for millions of Indians.

Face Authentication for Secure Online Updates
UIDAI will implement a face authentication system to verify the identity of individuals updating their Aadhaar details. This system allows residents to make changes using a mobile phone or computer from the comfort of their home. UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar stated that this process is secure and aims to prevent identity-related issues, including fraud and identity theft. While many updates can now be done online, some changes such as updating your photo or making biometric modifications—including fingerprints and iris scans—will still require a visit to an Aadhaar center.
