Cursor launches Rs 649 India-only 'Start' plan: What you get, and what stays locked
AI coding startup Cursor has launched its first country-specific subscription, and India is the test case. Cursor Start costs Rs 649 a month, tax inclusive, and slots in between the company's free tier and its $20 Pro plan. It went live this week, just weeks before SpaceX is expected to close its $60 billion all-stock acquisition of the startup.
The pricing isn't charity. India is already Cursor's third-largest market, with a user base that tripled over the past year to more than 3 million developers. The company says Indian users run more agent requests per developer than anyone else in the world. Payments go through UPI, credit or debit card, which was the second thing Indian users had been asking for.
