Everyone with an iPhone must check one setting and restart their devices now
If you have an iPhone in your pocket, you definitely need to check your settings, download the latest update from Apple and give the device a reboot. The US technology firm has just released a patch for all smartphones called iOS 26.5.2. Unlike some upgrades that come packed with new features, this software change is simply about fixing some pretty serious gremlins.
Although that's not very exciting, iOS 26.5.2 is not something you want to ignore as it fixes a total of 29 flaws within Apple's operating system.
Most of the issues relate to something called WebKit. This platform is an open-source browser engine that renders web pages. It powers software like Safari and many apps, handling HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and webpage layout on devices.
These latest vulnerabilities are particularly important to fix, as they can affect millions of users via malicious and fake websites.
It is unclear whether anyone has been affected by the current issues, but Apple is always quick to address any flaws that are identified.
"For our customers' protection, Apple doesn't disclose, discuss, or confirm security issues until an investigation has occurred and patches or releases are available," the company added.
