Final Fantasy 7 Remake Revelation gets encouraging update on development

The director of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Revelation, Naoki Hamaguchi, appeared on stage at EU Fan Fest 2026 to provide an update on the development of the game, as well as announce an exciting crossover with Final Fantasy 14.

Final Fantasy Fan Fest is mostly an event tailored towards FF14, the online MMO version of Square Enix's hit franchise. While each Final Fantasy game is distinctly different from one another, the publisher is now set to bring two of its most popular titles together in a crossover event next year.

Final Fantasy 14's director, Naoki Yoshida, introduced Hamaguchi on stage in Berlin to announce the crossover.

"With the release of the final chapter in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series, Revelation, coming soon, I can imagine a lot of people will have their eyes on this exciting crossover," Yoshida said. He then asked: "So, how is development on Revelation going, and what are your thoughts on Final Fantasy 14 Beyond the Lifestream?"

Hamaguchi replied, saying: "FF7 Revelations will be coming out next spring.

"The development team is really, really hard at work to make sure it both lives up to all your expectations and that it comes out on time. So please bear with us for just a little bit longer."

So, if fans had any doubts that the release date of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Revelation might slip to later in the year, Hamaguchi affirms that the team at Creative Studio 1 is still on track to deliver the game next spring. There's currently no word on the game's exact release date.
