Google’s AI Chatbot Gemini Now Available In Nine Indian Languages
Google has introduced the Gemini app in India, now supporting nine Indian languages . Previously available only in English, the AI chatbot now allows users to type or speak in Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
To access Gemini on Android, users can download the app from the Play Store or enable it via Google Assistant . For iOS users, the app will become available through the Google app in the coming weeks. Similar to Google's former voice assistant, Gemini can be activated by saying 'Hey Google'.
Like OpenAI's ChatGPT , the Gemini app assists users in drafting messages, composing emails, analyzing images, uploading files, and answering related questions. The chatbot can also perform internet searches and is integrated with Google services such as Gmail and Maps.
Gemini is powered by Gemini 1.0 Pro, offering a free version and a paid option. The paid version provides access to Gemini Advanced, which is based on Gemini 1.5 Pro. This advanced large language model features a 1 million token context window.
Google claims that Gemini 1.5 Pro will soon be capable of comprehending extensive information, from lengthy documents and emails to hours of video and large codebases. Additionally, the company has announced that Gemini will be incorporated into Google Messages in English for Indian users starting today.
During the Google I/O developer conference last month, Google demonstrated plans to integrate Gemini into apps like Gmail, YouTube, Google Messages, and Android. Besides India, the Gemini app has also been launched in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Turkey.
