Intex Raag 3500 party speaker review: Big sound, bold lights, premium price
3.5/5
India's party speaker market has grown rapidly over the last few years. Consumers today are looking for more than just loud sound. They want deep bass, wireless microphones, colourful lighting and multiple connectivity options for home parties, family gatherings and small events. While brands like JBL, Sony and Bose dominate the premium segment, Indian brands are also trying to make their presence felt with feature-packed products at competitive prices.

Intex is one such brand. Best known for its budget electronics and speakers, the company is now aiming higher with the Intex Raag 3500 , a premium party speaker priced at Rs 49,999. It comes with a 350W sound output, a large 15-inch woofer, full-body RGB lighting, TWS connectivity, a rechargeable UHF wireless karaoke microphone, XLR input and output ports, tripod mount support and multiple playback modes including Bluetooth, USB, AUX, FM, TF card and microphone input.
On paper, the Raag 3500 promises everything users would expect from a party speaker. We spent time with the Intex Raag 3500 to find out whether it lives up to its promises or if buyers would be better off considering alternatives in this price segment.
Design and build
Intex Raag 3500 is built to grab attention the moment we take it out of the box. This is not a compact Bluetooth speaker that can be carried around easily. It is a large party speaker designed to stay at the centre of the action. The tall cabinet, large front grille and full-body RGB lighting give it a bold look that fits well at house parties, outdoor gatherings and small events.
The build quality feels solid. The cabinet is made of hard plastic, while the front metal grille protects the large 15-inch woofer from accidental bumps. The side handles make it easier for us to move the speaker despite its size. However, it is still a heavy unit, so carrying it over long distances is not convenient without help.
One of the biggest highlights is the RGB lighting. Unlike many speakers that only light up around the woofer, the Raag 3500 features full-body lighting that extends to the sides. The lights are bright, colourful and instantly create a party atmosphere, especially in dimly lit rooms or outdoor evening events. They also have a dedicated on/off switch, which is useful when we want to save power or prefer a cleaner look.
The rear panel is neatly arranged and packed with controls. We get dedicated analogue knobs for master volume, bass, treble, microphone volume and line input, making quick adjustments easy without opening any app. There is also an informative LED display, USB port, TF card slot, AUX input, XLR line in/out ports and Bluetooth controls. Everything is clearly labelled and easy to access.
Another thoughtful addition is the tripod mount, which makes the speaker suitable for DJs, live performances and public events. Overall, while the design may not look as premium as some global brands in this price range, the Raag 3500 scores well on practicality.
Performance
Intex Raag 3500 is clearly built for people who enjoy loud music and large gatherings. Its 350W sound output and 15-inch woofer are more than enough to fill a large living room, terrace or small event venue with sound. During our testing, we used the speaker for everything from casual music listening to a family karaoke night, and it handled each scenario with ease.
The first thing we noticed was the bass. It is powerful and has plenty of punch, especially with Bollywood dance tracks like Kala Chashma, Malang Sajna, Ghungroo, and Aankh Marey. The speaker easily gets people moving without sounding strained, even at high volumes. Bass lovers will appreciate the low-end performance, although at maximum volume it occasionally becomes a little overwhelming. Thankfully, the dedicated bass and treble knobs let us fine-tune the sound according to the room and the type of music we were playing.
Vocals remain reasonably clear for a party speaker. Songs like Kesariya, Tum Hi Ho, and Agar Tum Saath Ho sounded pleasant, with voices remaining easy to hear even alongside heavy background instruments. The speaker is not tuned like an audiophile home audio system, but that is not its purpose. It is designed to entertain a crowd, and in that role it performs well.
One feature we enjoyed using was the rechargeable UHF wireless karaoke microphone. Pairing was effortless, and we did not notice any significant lag between speaking and hearing our voice through the speaker. During our karaoke session, the microphone maintained a stable connection even when we moved around the room. The built-in display on the microphone is a useful addition, and the rechargeable battery means we did not have to worry about replacing disposable cells before every event.
The echo control deserves special mention. Adding a little echo instantly made singing feel more enjoyable, whether someone was attempting Tum Se Hi or an energetic performance of Gallan Goodiyaan. Families with children or anyone who enjoys karaoke nights will likely spend a lot of time with this feature.
Connectivity was equally straightforward. We switched between Bluetooth, USB, AUX and FM radio without any issues. Bluetooth pairing was quick, and the connection remained stable throughout our testing. The inclusion of TF card support, XLR input/output, and TWS (True Wireless Stereo) connectivity also makes the Raag 3500 suitable for small events, stage performances or DJs who want more flexibility.
