For such users, WhatsApp is introducing the option to disable cross-platform messaging. By opting out, users will restrict their communication to within the WhatsApp ecosystem, with their chats accessible in read-only mode until manually deleted.
Recent reports from WABetaInfo highlight the introduction of a new toggle in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.6.2, allowing users to switch off third-party chats within the app. Developers are also exploring the possibility of enabling users to select which external apps can communicate with WhatsApp, providing a customizable experience tailored to individual preferences.
Although these features are still in development, they are expected to roll out to users within the coming weeks or months, offering greater control and flexibility in their messaging interactions.
