The letter argues that America’s AI leadership depends not on a single frontier model but on building a strong, open ecosystem that diffuses across industries. It highlights how open weights AI models that anyone can download, inspect, and run expand access, spur competition, and give greater control to organisations over their data and capabilities. The letter has also drawn endorsements from the biggest names in technology.
