WhatsApp to Soon Introduce AI Assistance for Users Before Sending Messages
WhatsApp has been steadily experimenting with artificial intelligence, and the latest test could change the way people send messages on the platform. A new AI-powered Writing Help tool has been spotted in the latest Android beta version 2.25.23.7, giving users the ability to refine and improve their texts before they’re sent.

Smarter Messaging With Meta AI
Meta, WhatsApp’s parent company, has been rolling out AI features across its products, including Instagram and Messenger. On WhatsApp, Meta AI is stepping beyond simple image generation and trip planning, now focusing on making conversations clearer and more expressive.
The Writing Help feature can edit, summarise, or even draft messages in various styles. Users will be able to choose tones such as Rephrase, Professional, Funny, or Proofread to match the context of their chats. This means you can easily switch from casual jokes with friends to a polished, professional note for work-all within the same app.
The Writing Help feature will also be optional. It will remain off by default, and users can choose to enable it through settings. Plus, there’s no obligation to use AI-original messages can still be sent as usual.
For the feature to work, users will need to grant permission for microphone and speaker access. Once enabled, the chatbot will be able to listen, process commands, and respond with both text and voice.
As testing continues, it’s clear that WhatsApp is positioning itself as not just a messenger, but an assistant that adapts to different contexts while keeping user privacy at its core.

Privacy and Security Assured
Despite AI stepping into your chats, Meta insists that privacy remains intact. The platform uses its private processing technology to ensure that messages stay encrypted and your identity remains anonymous. Importantly, the person on the other end of the chat won’t know whether AI was involved in drafting the text. The Writing Help feature will also be optional. It will remain off by default, and users can choose to enable it through settings. Plus, there’s no obligation to use AI-original messages can still be sent as usual.
Voice Chat With Meta AI in Testing
In addition to Writing Help, WhatsApp is testing another powerful feature: voice chat with Meta AI. Much like Apple’s Siri, this chatbot will appear with a dynamic halo icon and respond to spoken queries. It won’t just answer questions but also cite sources to strengthen credibility-something that could set it apart from other assistants. For the feature to work, users will need to grant permission for microphone and speaker access. A Step Into the Future of Chatting
WhatsApp’s steady rollout of AI shows how the platform is evolving from a simple messaging service into a smart, AI-driven communication tool. With Writing Help and voice chat, users will have more control over their conversations-whether it’s to add humor, ensure professionalism, or simply make communication faster. As testing continues, it’s clear that WhatsApp is positioning itself as not just a messenger, but an assistant that adapts to different contexts while keeping user privacy at its core.
