'Abhishek Has Done No Wrong': Mamata Banerjee Defends Nephew Amid TMC Rebellion

Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee strongly defended her nephew and the party's national general secretary, Abhishek Banerjee, amid growing internal dissent within the party. She said Abhishek had done no wrong and would remain in politics for the next 50 years. Her remarks came after senior TMC MLA Madan Mitra quit her faction and joined a rival camp, blaming Abhishek's leadership style. Mamata linked Mitra's exit to ED summons issued to his family and accused the BJP of using central agencies and police to engineer defections. She asserted that a few leaders leaving would not weaken the Trinamool Congress, apologised to the people for the actions of those who left the party, and vowed to rebuild the organisation if required.
