Amit Shah To Speak On Student Protest Crackdown; Rahul Says 'Not Interested In Fantasy Convos'

Parliament remained deadlocked as the government agreed to a debate on the recent student protests, with Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju saying Home Minister Amit Shah is ready to respond in the House. Rijiju urged the opposition not to disrupt or walk out during Shah’s statement. Congress, however, insisted that its demands, including an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi over alleged police excesses and a statement on alleged embezzlement of Ram temple funds, must also be addressed. Rahul Gandhi said Shah must clarify who authorised the alleged use of pellet guns and nail-studded lathis against students and demanded his resignation. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge called all three demands non-negotiable. Rajya Sabha Leader of the House JP Nadda accused Rahul of making baseless allegations and said the government was ready to discuss every issue.
