Assam Govt Launches Relief Package As Over 1.36 Lakh People Remain Flood Affected | Watch

The Assam government has started distributing the first tranche of interim flood relief, providing benefits worth nearly ₹75,000 to families whose homes were severely damaged. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the relief package from Dibrugarh while touring flood-hit districts. Meanwhile, the flood death toll has risen to 85 after three more fatalities, although the number of affected people has declined to around 1.36 lakh. Thousands remain in relief camps, farmland continues to remain submerged, and authorities are monitoring rivers still flowing above danger levels. Watch
