BJP Rejects Omar Abdullah's 'Operation Lotus' Allegation, Demands Proof Or Public Apology

The BJP has strongly rejected Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's allegation that one of his National Conference MLAs was offered Rs 20-30 crore, a ministerial berth and statehood to switch sides. BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi termed the claim "baseless" and challenged Abdullah to either produce evidence or issue a public apology.The controversy erupted after Omar Abdullah alleged that a BJP functionary approached one of his party's MLAs with the offer, which the legislator allegedly rejected. The BJP has accused the Chief Minister of making the allegation to divert attention from his government's performance, while the National Conference has stood by Abdullah's claims.
