Bomb Threat Email Targets Delhi Courts, Airport, Metro Ahead Of August 15; Security Checks Begin

Delhi has been placed on heightened security alert after the airport and Delhi High Court received bomb threats via email ahead of Independence Day. The threatening message warned of blasts on August 15 and named several other locations, including IGI Terminal 3, district courts, Saket, Jhandewalan and government offices. Threats were also issued against the Delhi Metro and Ambala-bound trains. Security checks have been intensified and fire tenders deployed. Authorities are investigating the email and verifying its credibility. So far, no suspicious objects have been found at the threatened locations.
