Building Collapses In Delhi's Rohini; 1 Dead, Several Trapped; Rescue Ops Underway
A four-storey building collapsed in Delhi's Rohini Sector 16 on Wednesday evening amid rainfall, leaving one person dead and another rescued, while several others are feared trapped beneath the debris. The Delhi Fire Service received a call about the incident at 4:19 pm and immediately launched a large-scale rescue operation. Four fire tenders, two water bowsers, a multipurpose vehicle and an intensive rescue tender were rushed to the spot. According to preliminary information, the old building was reportedly undergoing construction or renovation work when it collapsed, though the exact cause is yet to be determined. Firefighters, police and disaster response teams are searching the debris for survivors. The area has been cordoned off, with heavy machinery deployed, while senior Delhi Fire Service and Delhi Police officials supervise the ongoing rescue operation.
