Centre To Create Strong Anti-Infiltration Security Layer Across Tripura, Assam And Bengal: Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the Centre will soon hold a high-level meeting with the Chief Ministers of Tripura, Assam and West Bengal to strengthen measures against infiltration along India’s eastern borders. Speaking in Delhi, Shah said the governments in the three states now share a policy position that infiltration into the country must be stopped. He added that the Home Ministry is working on creating a “strong security layer” to prevent illegal entry and improve coordination between border forces and local administration. Shah also urged the Border Security Force to expand communication beyond border posts and work closely with district officials, police stations and local revenue officers to build a smooth system for identifying and expelling infiltrators. The remarks come amid renewed focus on border management and internal security in eastern India.
