'Crafted By Iranian Architects': Iran Takes Swipe At Rubio Over Taj Mahal Visit

The Iranian Consulate in Hyderabad took a swipe at US Secretary of State Marco Rubio after his visit to the Taj Mahal, claiming the iconic monument reflected the “genius of Iranian architects” while criticising the US government’s stance towards Iran. Rubio, who is on a four-day visit to India, visited the Taj Mahal in Agra with his wife Jeanette Rubio and described it as “one of the love treasures of the world”. Following the visit, the Iranian Consulate posted a message on X stating that the monument was built in memory of the emperor’s Iranian wife and was crafted by Iranian architects. The post also accused the US administration of threatening Iranian civilisation and carried a photograph of Rubio and his wife at the monument.
