Vivid preparations for the 2026 Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra have intensified across various reagions of Jammu and Kashmir, with authorities implementing extensive security and logistical measures ahead of the annual pilgrimage.In Srinagar, security forces are conducting checks in hotels around Lal Chowk’s Ghanta Ghar area, verifying guest records and monitoring movement as part of heightened vigilance. Meanwhile, in Anantnag’s Pahalgam, police carried out a large-scale mock drill at a taxi stand to test emergency response systems, including evacuation procedures, crisis handling, and inter-agency coordination.Ground-level security has also been strengthened, with house-to-house searches underway and strict verification of horse owners through identity cards and QR codes. These measures aim to ensure proper registration, accountability, and safe movement of pilgrims along the yatra route.
