Former Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Gujral, son of former Prime Minister I.K. Gujral, has become the victim of a sophisticated cyber fraud worth ₹7.8 crore. Cybercriminals allegedly created a fake messaging account using Gujral's profile picture and manipulated an employee's phone contacts after infecting the device with a malicious file. Believing the messages were genuine, company officials processed four RTGS transfers totaling ₹7.8 crore. The fraud came to light only after Gujral's daughter verified the transactions with him. Delhi Police's cybercrime unit has frozen nearly ₹4 crore and expects further recovery as the investigation continues. Watch
