Government Proposes V2V Technology To Enable Real-Time Vehicle Communication For Better Road Safety

What if your car could warn you about danger before you even see it? The Government of India has proposed introducing Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication technology, allowing connected vehicles to exchange real-time safety information such as emergency braking, speed, direction and location. If approved, the proposal could significantly improve road safety by helping drivers react to hidden hazards sooner. In this video, we explain how V2V works, how it differs from ADAS, what the new AIS-230 standard and C-V2X technology mean, and the proposed rollout timeline beginning in 2027 with wider implementation proposed from 2028. The proposal is currently at the draft stage and is open for public consultation before any final notification is issued.
