‘In The Near Future’: Marco Rubio Invites PM Modi To White House ‘On Behalf Of Trump’

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the White House on behalf of US President Donald Trump, signalling efforts to further strengthen India-US relations despite recent trade tensions. The invitation was announced by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor after Rubio’s meeting with Modi in New Delhi. According to officials, the discussions focused on expanding cooperation in security, trade, critical technologies and advancing a free and open Indo-Pacific region. Later, while inaugurating the US Embassy Support Annex Building in Delhi, Rubio highlighted the close personal relationship between Modi and Trump, saying the bond had continued from Trump’s first administration into the second term and remained visibly strong.
