‘INDIA Stands United’: Abhishek Banerjee Thanks Rahul Gandhi For Support After Sonarpur Attack

TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee has thanked Rahul Gandhi for extending support after he was allegedly attacked by a mob in West Bengal’s Sonarpur. Responding to Gandhi’s post on X, Banerjee described himself as a victim of political violence and accused the BJP of using intimidation against its opponents. He said he would continue fighting to protect democracy and constitutional values. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi condemned the attack, calling it an assault on democracy and a reflection of the BJP’s politics of vendetta. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said several opposition leaders, including Gandhi, had contacted her after the incident. Banerjee was reportedly targeted with stones, shoes and eggs while visiting the family of a man allegedly killed in post-poll violence in South 24 Parganas district.
