Iran Invites BJP Chief Nitin Nabin, Congress Prez Kharge, Pawan Khera To Khamenei's Funeral: Report

Iran has reportedly extended formal invitations to senior leaders from the BJP, Congress and other Indian political parties to attend the multi-day state funeral of former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran. According to reports, invitations have been sent to BJP leaders Nitin Nabin and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid, along with PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti. The Government of India will be represented by Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita and Bihar Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain. The state funeral is scheduled from July 4 to July 9, with ceremonies in Tehran, Qom and Mashhad, where Khamenei will be laid to rest.
