Jharkhand Showdown: Protesters Set To Gherao State Assembly; Demand JSSC-CGL Cancellation, CBI Probe

Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi is bracing for a major showdown as protesting job aspirants prepare to proceed with their planned Assembly gherao despite government appeals to call off the agitation. The deadlock continues over demands for a CBI probe into alleged recruitment irregularities and cancellation of the JSSC-CGL 2024 examination. Meanwhile, all three remaining JPSC members resigned ahead of CID questioning in connection with alleged irregularities in the 14th JPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination. Earlier, protesters held a Tiranga Yatra through Ranchi. Chief Minister Hemant Soren urged youths to remain peaceful and assured that legitimate demands would be addressed transparently. For Monday, prohibitory orders have been imposed within 750 metres of the Assembly, with additional police deployment and route videography planned.
